"I'll let you know when she feels better," Apricot promised.
"Yeah..."  Blue didn't expect it to be any time soon, so his hopes weren't set very high.
Apricot didn't seem to notice.  Either that, or he didn't care.  Regardless, he just kept smiling.  "Well, I'll see you around, I guess.  Don't be afraid to say 'hi' whenever."  He turned and trotted back to Saffron.
Iridescence and Motley seemed to be in the midst of a disagreement.  Blue could only conclude that it was about Emerald...who made an attempt at freeing a prisoner at the Fortress...where Blue had heard the voice.  Perhaps that last part was what needed to be addressed first.
"Ocean...what do you think they meant?" the pegasus murmured.
    "Who?" asked the dark unicorn.
"That voice...when we were leaving the Fortress."
Ocean Shade looked up and to the left, as if he were trying to recall the event.  Then his eyes widened.  "Bice," he said, the smile fading from his face.  "Could you give us some time to catch up on things?"
The green unicorn respectfully bowed his head as if to abide.  A split second later, however, his ears pinned back, he stood up straight, and stamped a hoof on the ground.  "Sorry, I can't let Blue out of my sight.  He is my responsibility."
"So you're just going to stand there and stare at him until he leaves?"
Bice grimaced, but he held his ground.  "Blue caused quite the commotion earlier.  If that happens again under my watch, I will be the next one in a cell..."
"Bice, I didn't mean to cause you any trouble...  You have my apologies."  Blue sighed.  There were those stupid meaningless, words again.
"That's not the point," the white-maned stallion said.  Blue thought he could detect a little guilt in his tone.  "I shouldn't've allowed you to run like that."  He stomped the ground with one leg again.  "It's my job to stop you if you try it again."
"I won't try it again," Blue swore.
"Oh, so you planned to do it the first time?"
    "W-what?  No...!"
"Exactly.  You can't predict what you're going to do next.  I can tell that you're the kind to let your emotions control you."  Bice glared at the ground, then back at the winged horse.
Blue noticed the tip of his tour-guide's tail quivering, just like it had during Cyan's confrontation.  He seems pretty emotional, himself.  "...You're right," he conceded.  "I'll have to count on you to keep me in line...at least, until I go home."
"Just...pretend I'm not here."  Bice seemed to relax ever so little.  Though his ears remained flattened, and he sneaked a glance behind himself for such a short time that Blue almost thought he'd imagined it.  Curious, the pegasus peered around the escort.
A middle-aged pale yellow stallion with white mane had stopped walking in order to meet Blue's gaze head-on.
The pegasus jumped, grasping for a reason to look away.  "...Ocean?  About what we heard--"
"Yes, of course," Ocean interrupted.  "We both heard it.  It's nothing to worry about."
Bice eyed them suspiciously.  He was being too vague.
"After all, Umber proved you were innocent.  All of those assumptions we heard about you were false.  So, again, it's nothing to worry about."
The green stallion seemed to let it go with the specifications.
But that wasn't what Blue was talking about.  He opened his mouth to correct him, when an elongated beep sounded in his head.
"Don't say anything else." Ocean's voice played over it.
The winged equine tensed.  Whatever the reason, Ocean didn't want Bice to know about what was said there.  I need to know what they meant when he said that, Blue projected his thoughts.
"I don't know what they meant.  But you can't mention anything you heard to anybody.  Do you understand me?"
I don't understand...  If there's an escape tonight, you could use all the help you can get to stop it, right?
"An...escape?  I told you, with my traps, escape is impossible."
You said your traps were set to go off if the door was opened from the inside.  If that were true, there would be nothing to stop the prisoner from escaping if the door was opened from the outside...like what Emerald had done.
    "You're mistaken."
Ocean looked up at Blue intensely.  "Emerald tried to break him out, it's true.  But he didn't succeed."
    Because he was caught...
"No...  It's because only Higher-ups can open the doors from the outside."

Blue registered this information.  Ebony had mentioned getting rid of a brat.  Maybe she's planning to let them escape?
    "...Ebony?"
The green-eyed unicorn risked a peek at Bice, who had been watching them with growing suspicion.  That's when Blue realized there had been silence between them for the duration of their conversation.  It was a matter of time before Bice would catch on to them.
The beeping stopped.  "It's...nice to see you again," Ocean said aloud.
"Nice to see you, too," Blue answered, a bit surprised by the sudden formal greeting.  Their initial reunion didn't exactly give them the time for it, so he supposed it was now or never.
"You decided to keep your mane long, I see?"
"Huh?  Well--actually--I tried to use your spell, but I guess I couldn't remember your tincture name at the time."
"I wonder if it'll still work," Ocean pondered.  "It's been over two years, hasn't it?"
    "It has..."
"...Well, do you wish to use it now?"
Blue flinched.  "Err...  I don't know yet."
"Still deciding on your golden tips, huh...?"
No...  Blue let his gaze wander over the many unicorns in the field.  A lot of them,  including Mr. Pale Yellow, had their mane cut or styled in a way only magic could accomplish.  He bared no ill-will  toward any of them, but the thought of his looks fitting in with theirs unsettled him.  It felt like he'd lose a piece of himself by conforming to his unicorn heritage.
